Pit Road Pets:  NASCAR Stars and Their Pets invited you into the world of your favorite NASCAR stars for a special look into their family lives with their pets.

The Second Lap takes you even further into the heart of NASCAR by capturing fans at Charlotte, Bristol, and Michigan with their beloved animals.  Drivers, TV personalities, people that work behind the scenes and now the fans are all beautifully photographed with their creatures great and small.  From Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Richard Petty's buffalo to Rick Hendrick's parrot, George, we hope you enjoy The Second Lap.

Pit Road Pets:  NASCAR Stars and Their Pets, the Second Lap was created because of the fans.  Not only will you find stories from other NASCAR drivers, crew chiefs, team owners, media personalities, and event directors, you will find pictures and faces of what makes our sport so great, the fans.  Our team traveled to a few NASCAR racetracks, and we were amazed to find how many fans of our sport had their pets traveling with them.  We hope you enjoy the stories and photos you will find in this book, as much as we have enjoyed creating it.  To many of us, our animals are not just pets, they are our family.

The proceeds from the first book helped build a regional spay/neuter clinic at the Humane Society of Catawba Count in Hickory, NC.  The Ryan Newman Foundation S.N.I.P. clinic has already performed over 13,000 spay/neuter surgeries since their doors opened in 2007, preventing the death of hundreds of thousands of unwanted and stray animals.

The Second Lap is going to make an even bigger impact on these numbers.  One hundred percent of the Ryan Newman Foundation net proceeds will be donated to animal causes.  The Humane Alliance in Asheville, North Carolina will use their donation to supplement the income for those who cannot afford to have their pets spayed or neutered.  The donations will enable grants to be given to spay/neuter clinics throughout the nation.  These clinics will provide much needed support in their communities and help fight pet overpopulation.  The other proceeds will help the Ryan Newman Foundation build and animal and education center in North Carolina that will serve as a model for animal welfare and education throughout the U.S.
